AI for Real, Art and Programming

FRIDAY 2 OCTOBER

How do we use AI – and how is the technology changing us?

  • Friday 2 October

Since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, AI has evolved at an extraordinary pace and become part of our working lives, creative processes and ways of thinking about technology. But what exactly is a GPT? What is an LLM? And how can AI be used in practice — without losing oversight or outsourcing all of our thinking to machines?

In this talk, we explore how AI is already being used for programming, learning and creative projects. We look at both the possibilities and the pitfalls: from hallucinations and security risks to new ways of creating, experimenting and working.
Along the way, different AI tools and models will be introduced — from ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude to Grok, Le Chat and open-source models such as Qwen 3.5 — as well as examples of AI systems working beyond text.

The session offers concrete tools and perspectives on how AI can support creative and technical processes here and now, while also examining the hopes, fears and future imaginaries surrounding a rapidly changing society.
