How can speculative fiction help us imagine different futures? And what opportunities – and pitfalls – emerge when we use storytelling to challenge the way we see the world?Speculative fiction allows us to explore what does not yet exist. By imagining possible futures, we can test new ideas, question the status quo, and cultivate hope that the world can be different. At the same time, stories can also narrow our perspective, exclude other voices, or reinforce particular visions of the future.In this session, researchers and writers explore how speculative fiction can serve as a tool for both reflection and change.
