- Thursday 1 October
The film follows three 11-year-old boys Satayarth, Hari, and Abhishek, who have just been admitted to a religious boarding school in India. The documentary portrays their journey and the difficult divide between a liberal and a radical understanding of their religion.
At the school, the teachers, including Guru Avimuktesh encourage the students to believe that minority religions, especially Islam, should be suppressed for the good of the nation. In the midst of a climate marked by intolerance and polarization, the boys face a crucial choice:
Will they carry forward the fanaticism surrounding them, or discover that the ancient sacred texts also contain messages of tolerance, compassion, and profound spiritual insight?
Through the boys’ development, the film explores how religious and political indoctrination shapes young minds, but also how hope, reflection, and humanity can pave the way for a different future.
After the screening, the audience is invited to an inclusive Q&A session, offering an opportunity to explore the film’s themes and production in greater depth.
