Artist Sahar Jamili creates a shared space with young people from Taastrupgaard in Høje Taastrup as part of the project Our Dreams of Tomorrow. Together, they explore how art can bring people together and shape identity through personal stories – and they have developed a work that has already been shown at Roskilde Festival.
Through workshops, 16–20-year-olds from the Taastrupgaard Art Club have worked with storytelling in many forms: writing, sound, interviews, objects, images, and urban walks. The result is a photo exhibition featuring images from their own everyday lives, where many voices are woven into a single collective narrative.
The exhibition is part of AKK – Public Housing Art Clubs (Almene Kunstklubber) and emerges from the social housing initiative A Dream for Tomorrow in Taastrupgaard. Sahar Jamili, based in Copenhagen, works with art as a socially transformative practice through objects and materials that carry stories and create new meanings through their interrelations.
