What does the future look like through the eyes of young people? What are their hopes, and what do they think about the world that awaits them?
In Future Folly, words, ideas and craftsmanship come together in an artistic installation created by 75 students from Pulsen Gymnasium – part of Roskilde Technical College.
The installation is the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration between Danish and technology classes. Drawing on themes such as existentialism and natural phenomena, the students have explored their own visions of the future through writing and reflection. At the same time, they have investigated how these ideas can take physical form through construction, materials and the sustainable use of resources.
The result is a sculptural wooden structure in which the students’ perspectives and hopes for the future become part of the artwork itself.
