Can sensibility change the world?

04.05.2026Upcoming

A conversation about care, norms, and new ways of being human

We talk a lot about technology, speed, and transformation. But what if one of the things we lack most is sensibility?

Several researchers suggest that we are in the midst of a “crisis of sensibility” a condition in which our reduced ability to feel, understand, and take responsibility for one another and the living world around us contributes to worsening the climate crisis and the social crises we are facing.

For a long time, we have seen ourselves as separate from nature. As autonomous individuals. As rational actors. But what if it is precisely this idea of the independent and “normal” human being that stands in the way of a more sustainable future?

In the scenography of the performance CRIP, REPUBLIQUE/REVOLVER and GRASP invite you to an evening of conversation and music exploring what we can learn from crip and queer theory, not only about gender and the body, but about community, vulnerability, and planetary care.

Crip and queer movements challenge the idea of what is “normal.” They insist that what we call deviation is often simply variation. That vulnerability is not weakness, but a fundamental condition of being human. And that care, inclusion, and interdependence can be radical forces in a world marked by crisis.

The program brings together strong voices from art, research, and the performing arts in a shared exploration of care, norms, and new ways of being human. Together, they open up perspectives on vulnerability, coexistence, and what we can learn from the experiences of people who already navigate a world not designed for them.

The evening will also include a musical element with Melodi Ghazal, whose cinematic and captivating soundscape revolves around longing, hope, and vulnerability. With her unique balance between the fragile and the resilient, her music opens yet another space for reflection.

Look forward to a sensory and thought-provoking GRASP Pop-Up with words, reflection, and music set within the scenography of CRIP.
